Fynbos Suites sits in a private nature reserve near Gansbaai, where you can watch nature from deck chairs or your protected terrace. The living area has a wood-fire stove and sliding doors to the deck, the bedroom a king bed with cotton percale linen and goose down bedding, and the bathroom an ample bath and shower with gowns. Evenings are made for the braai, the sunset and a soak in the private wood-fired hot tub, with a splash pool in summer. The kitchen runs on gas, as does the hot water, so it is loadshedding-proof, and there is free Wifi. Farm 215 is an 800-hectare reserve that never hosts more than 20 guests, home to birds, wildlife and the elusive Cape Leopard. The village of Baardskeerdersbos is close by, Gansbaai is 20 minutes away and Hermanus 45 minutes.
Tucked into a private reserve near Gansbaai with backup power, so the soak and the quiet carry on whatever the grid does.
